Madagascar Jr. – A second round of auditions will be held on Sunday May 5 from 12pm-2pm at the Cleveland Heights Community Center (1 Monticello Blvd) in Activity Room 7 which is easily accessible via the elevator or stairs closest to the Ice Rink.
For this audition, kids will come in and sing a song of their choice and read scenes from the show.
REHEARSALS: We will rehearse Monday-Thursday 6:30-8:30 pm (except for June 19, July 1, July 3, July 4, and July 8), and will rehearse on Sunday, June 30 & July 7, 1-3 pm. Location TBD.
We are so excited you are interested in participating in Cain Park’s summer youth show, Madagascar Jr.! There is no participation fee for this show! Auditions are open to children finishing their 2nd grade – 8th grade school year.
It’s ok if you’re nervous or if this is your first audition! I always feel better when I know what a director is looking for, so I thought it would help you to know what I look for in an audition. I’m looking to see:
- If you can sing your song on tune and on tempo
- That you put a little emotion into what you’re singing
- That you are a good fit for one of the characters we are looking to cast
- Your personality!
- Smile – this is fun!
- And, finally, “Sing out, Louise!” aka projection, or how loudly you can sing
